The founding members of Mercy Cares, Inc. have been helping people in need in their community for more than 10 years.

Chairman of the Board Mike Eason founded a group in his church that adopted a school less than a mile from the church that had a majority of low-income students.

The group partnered with the school to provide reading buddies, lunch buddies as well as weekend food backpacks and clothing.

However, group members found the need was greater than the budget they had from the church so they founded Mercy Cares, Inc. to expand their volunteer base and fund-raising efforts.

One of our goals is to reduce the negative effects of poverty by addressing food insecurities, language barriers, and empowering individuals.
